Spider Ball is an annual fundraising halloween extravaganza hosted in tandem by the Bently Reserve and Playa Love, a Burning Man camp dedicated to promoting local organizations and communities both on the playa and at home. Thrown at the historic Bently Reserve, it is a halloween celebration with an underground approach of decadence and elegance that is all freak and funk. There is the main banking hall hosting the main stage performances, beds to chill around the perimeter, a separate chill room and 6 bars.
In both 2006 and 2007 all proceeds went to support Friends of the Urban Forest, helping San Francisco become greener one tree at a time. 2007 saw the Spider Ball completely sell out with Bassnectar and a host of DJ's, performances and treats. For 2008 Spider Ball will benefit BRAF (Black Rock Arts Foundation) and giveback.net with Europe and the playa's Freq Nasty headlining a new host of entertainment and freak show delight. The roster for 2009 is already being built and will have an expanded house with two main stages in separate rooms with 2 chill spaces as well.
The historic Bently Reserve is San Francisco's flagship venue for lavish weddings, intimate gatherings, and groundbreaking events both large and small. One of the more prestigious and beautiful buildings in the city, the Reserve will be converted into a sophisticated megaclub for a halloween night that's sure to be off the hook! Known for its cutting-edge technology, eco-friendly design, and historic grandeur, the Reserve is San Francisco's most celebrated venue.
All proceeds benefit BRAF (Black Rock Arts Foundation) & it's support of art and community for years to come.
